After a further 12 mile test ride today I have decided to buy the Synapse Carbon 105. The wheel upgrade can wait until next season.

Enjoy! I've got the Disc version - after planning to get the Ultegra Disc; but thought 105 would be good enough - and the £500 saved can go towards a better set of wheels.

On the awful roads here in West Lancs the ride is much improved from what I rode before; in fact, it's like night and day. Really comfortable and I've changed the tyres for the Vittoria Open Paves.
