    I've still got a very long way to go on that front, managed just under 8900 feet on Friday, doing my first 100-miler.

    Nope, that was my longest and with the most amount of climbing ride I've done.

    I could have diverted to the Gospel Pass and racked up a few more miles and feet, but I was pretty wrecked by then and the last thing in mind were statistics... the full account is here:

    ha ha... actually my XT rear derailleur is quite posh in that respect... the jockey wheels are mounted on bearings...
