There is this segment[1], I had the KOM some months ago, my friends made a better time together. I went there this week and gave 100% to get the KOM, but wasn't enough.
What to do when you're well trained, healthy, feeling strong and you can't won a KOM ?

If its this segment, find a couple of friends to keep an eye for Traffic at the Junction at the start and start from the top on other end of the road before entering that segment... But seriously? a 100m segment? really just that amount of fuss for a KOM?0

Alot of KOM's are down to luck such as a strong tail wind on the day, especially on road. If your times are all close on a good day you should get there. Just remember technique, correct gear, well maintained bike etc. are important0

Get over it?0 -
Accept that this particular segment is so short and pointless that your choice of recording device will have bigger impact over say a tail wind.
My advice, use an old iPhone.0 -

I'd have a look in the mirror and then give my head a wobble.0

Oh please, who doesn't enjoy beating their mates at a game?0

Wait for hurricane tailwind0

Personally I'd just get a sledgehammer, smash the bike to pieces and take up squash.Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/

25mph average, with an 11% climb thrown in. Good luck with that.0

Think that's a bit of Strava nonsense.
However, the surface looks a bit fruity:

Looking at flyby you need a group of riders for one then add some tailwind, fresh legs and off you go.0 -

That's the ,,,,,the,,,,,, the erm..... dude it's the same one ! Any smegment that requires you to merge into traffic at a junction is just a little bit Lemming-esque don't you think? Maybe buying some long trousers would help ?
Having said that, Strava app users are very often in the top five . Make of that what you will.0 -
Complete waste of time and effort. Get a life instead.WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels

There is a better asphalt right now.0 -
I find I get KOM's by accident. I dont even know where most segments start or end I I don't care. Strava segment encourge strava racing which is a waste of time and pointless as someone will come along with a tailwind and take it.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Went out last week with a mate and near the end of a ride we raced up a known segment - I won by about 4 secs of course! However my Garmin recorded time was 3 secs slower than his iPhone app reading. On a segment time of 1 min 9 secs that's a 10% variance.
So the moral of the above is use Strava as a personal development tool or get an iPhone0
