If I didn't want to get back for lunchtime so I could have an afternoon with the kids I would probably be the same.0 -
Ooop North (Ribble Valley) where I am, we can't do early rides in Winter (8am starts) due to ice, so the usualt Winter start time is 10am, or 9am, if a particular groups wants to do a longer distance.
We run 3 rides, the steady (usually circa 50miles at 13-14mph average), the B ride (70-90miles 15-16mph average), and the A group (70-100 miles 17-19mph average).
This seems to offer enough for everyone, and people chose the group on the day depending on how they are feeling. I usually ride B, but have been on a couple of A rides, and sometimes go on a steady ride depending on how I'm feeling.
We have a wide range of ages, including ex racers, and there are some 70+ yo riders who can still kick this ar*e out of this 40 something yo mamil!!
The important thing is to enjoy your riding, for whatever reason you get on a bike.0
