I'm now 11 weeks post op. Now having ultrasound and massage with the physio, rehab programme now has me doing single leg calf raises on a step and the leg press machine plus theraband and the wobble board. I rode my bike outside for the 2nd and third times last weekend 18 miles on Saturday, 26 on Sunday. Encouragingly my Achilles felt better on the Sunday than Saturday ( it tends to start to tighten up towards the end of a session ) and last nights turbo session was completely stiffness and pain free. Well apart from my lungs and quads.
Also I no longer walk with a limp.

You're doing well. I'm now 15 weeks post rupture and had the conservative (non surgical) treatment. Physio very pleased with progress, I can walk on tip toe now but can't manage a single leg calf raise with all of my weight yet. Cycling is now progressing well but slowly, did my first >20 mile ride last weekend but was glad to get home. My achilles feels fine but I get some pain in the front part of my ankle strangely and also a bit of numbness after around 15 miles. Did a few minor hills as well, around 7% with no side effects.

The achilles is still very thick compared to my good one but is getting a little more flexible. I'm happy generally but this is a bad injury with a slooooow recovery. As long as I keep improving I can live with that!

Mines quite thick compared to my other one. Although I'm doing calf raises I can't get right up on my toes, I haven't got enough strength back yet. Also when pedalling it feels like I got no power in the outside of my foot, especially if I try to stand up on the pedals. The main thing is that I'm being told that things are going well.
Also I didn't feel I was creeping along when riding last weekend. I actually manage to catch a group I spotted up the road and pass half of them going up a hill.

Now at 13 weeks and have Plyometrics added to my physio regime which is a bit like a short step aerobics workout, still lacking in strength. Which is to be expected, can't quite walk on tip toes yet . I managed a 60, 19 and a 50 mile rides last week. So I am pleased with how its going, not sure how long it will be before I can start Rock climbing again.

Now at 15 weeks and I can ride out of the saddle without discomfort although I feel slightly lacking in power on my repaired side.
I have been allowed to start rock climbing again and did a short session on my training board last with no problems other than some lower back stiffness this morning.
    Intervals next

Now week 17/18 Completed Lincoln Arrow today 99 miles 5 hrs 33 mins. Achilles twinged a bit but soon went off. Rest of my body hurt like shit.
Able to do most things but struggle a bit with recovery at the moment.
Almost forgot I'm now discharged from the consultant and the physiotherapist.
