My wellgo mg1 pedals are in need of replacement and not sure what to buy next.

I have been looking at superstar nano-x, shimano saint mx80, nukeproof horizon pro sam hill and even hope f20 pedals.

Hope f20 are they worth the price, I know hope stuff is quality but over 100 pound for pedals they will have to be.

What are you guys using on your bikes at the moment?

shimano saint, on the heavy side, and if you have big feet UK12 won't fit that good, some brands make specific to shoe width platforms.

Always used SHimano DX. Pretty retro these days but they're ace.

    Superstar nano and Shimano saints..

cant stand DMY v8-v12 bearings always die on mine and pins always come out ruining the thread.

    DMR Vaults
    Wellgo B143

Vaults are sticky an a bit wider, same issue as herdwick size 12's.

I measured the width of my shoe to make sure I got one wide enough.

I recently tried a bike fitted with Superstar Nanos and they fit my UK size 12 feet very well

Hmm plenty of different pedals used then between you lot.

Fancy a change otherwise would buy some more mg1s.

    I've a large foot 11-12 wearing eu46 am41s so after a large pedal base tempted by nano-x's.

    Decisions.

    +1

Nanos and Saints. Nanos are slightly gripper than the Saints and slightly lighter but both are excellent.

Rode V12s recently. Rubbish. Friend rode them first and complained that his feet were coming off the pedals. Then I rode them and my feet were bouncing, too. I wasn't happening over the same trail with the Nanos.

Switched to DMR Vaults from V8s...instantly better feel, also seemed a better fit for my size 47s

I'm using Hope f20s and Nanos. I prefer the f20s for their size and grip, and that they're lovely, obviously, but the Nanos are good too. I paid nowhere near rrp for the f20s, though.

I also have DMR V6s on my commuter just now, which are a nice shape. I'd give the new V12s (same shape as V6s) a look if I needed new pedals.

I had DMR V6's on my Parkwood, went to shit after a month of riding in reasonable conditions. Pins snapped off and bearings knackered. Grippy but not made to last with a stupid unservicable design.

Wellgo MG1. A good option if you don't clatter many rocks.

Otherwise for the same money I'd go Nano (or neutron, exotic - same pedal)/Electron/new v12.

I'm currently running Nanos, Saints and MG1. All good, the wellgo have had a he'll of a battering and still running fine if a tad stiff. Nanos gripper than the Saints and with a bigger platform

    Saints for me. Love them.

Had the standardized copy models which I believe are the same as Nanos - ok but not amazing.

If you get saints you will want to spend 30 minutes unscrewing all the pins, taking off the washers and putting the pins back in!

Currently got them on my bike and they've developed a lot of play in the axles which can't seem to get rid of.

Fancy a change and like the look of the nano-X pedals look easy to service, the bike they are going on gets loads of use.

Other than weight saving any reason to get the titanium axles upgrade on the nanos?

I was put off dmr pedals after a bad experience with a pair of v8s.

Sounds like the bush or end bearing has worn. Mine still going strong 8 years on!

Ti axles save weight but at massive cost. And sometimes have weight limits too.

    Exotic got some good prices:

Nano-x are good. Had he previous nanos which were the same as the carbon cycles and Nukeproof ones, liked them but although the nano-x doesn't quite look as good in my opinion, they are a step up, not too heavy, decent sized platform and very grippy, so grippy I'm happy to use the shorter pins (they come with long and short pins, and enough of each to fit to both pedals with plenty to spare)

I've just gone over to the flat side, and fitted a pair of Superstar Nanos to my MTB. I'd previously been a fan of SPDs, but the combination of spiked pedals and flat-soled shoes seems to offer at least as good grip and less float.
