    Quality race as usual.

Cancellara looks in really good shape for his final classics season. He's already beat Tony Martin in a TT and now this.

Wonder which bit of Strade Bianche they'll name after him?

    Spartacus Stannard.
The customary E Quick Step classics fail ticked off for another year.

Stybar was sitting on, cancellara did all the work and he still couldn't get round him.

Really like this race. Scenery, nice selections on the gravel and come down to a small group finale on the hill every time I've seen it. Difficult to call until last 200m.

lovely to see Canc win after that horrid day on the TdF - but I wanted Brambilla to hold on

Gutted for Brambillia, but a fantastic race.

I also enjoyed the lack of commentary :)

[edit] And I want a cycling holiday in Tuscany now as well

The disc brakes certainly gave them an edge. Oh hang on...

Forgot I had a farewell Alleycat for a friend today so just caught the last 25km in the bath (there's an image for you). Great race. Stybar had to get in front of Canc into the last 100m of corners but Canc knew the finish well enough to not let him.

Epic ride by Brambilla, Stybar owes him a beer or two after that

Sagan just hasnt got the zipp back in his legs yet. Question for the Mouments is is he at 98% or 100%...

So I'm watching this on ES player, which I pay for ... no commentary. But Cyclinghub.tv, which is free, is showing the same with commentary from Rob Hatch and Brian Smith. Why would I pay for ES?
More bizarre as the Eurosport highlights have the commentary on.

I think they say that the extra channels on Eurosportplayer go to all countries hence the lack of commentary. Its still a bit strange as they have to have commentators for the highlights. Also who were Dan Lloyd and Matt Stephens working for? They posted photos from the commentary booth the Siena.

The TV does not do that last hill justice. It's mega steep, I've walked up it. A few mates rode up it on the sportive. About a third of the speed Fabu took it at!

the women's race made it look much harder - and they would still be much faster than most of us. It also highlighted the gulf between men's and women's racing.

^in the difference in climbing power. Most of the women appeared to be struggling to maintain cadence.

Heading off topic, so I really ought to drop this, but I'm curious to know what 'sjw' is (I don't do Twitter).

I'm certainly not anti-women's racing and there have been some great contests recently, and some events where they have produced better races than the men.
