Specialized Big Hit Rear Shock for Mountain Use

I have a Specialized Big Hit with a RockShox Vivid R2C 215mm eye to eye with a 450lb Nukeproof spring.
I am using the bike for mountain use and not so much downhill use anymore.
The rear shock is a bit saggy and soft for mountain use, when i sit on the seat it drops quite low and it's really bouncy. No good for riding up mountains etc.
Can someone recommend something for what i need? 215mm would be a minimum as it would sit rather low with anything shorter.
Thanks

Remember, what is mountain use?
I wouldn't be using a big hit for anything but DH, if you aren't doing DH, get the right bike, it's just not designed to be peddled uphill!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
As above wrong bike, but you need to use the right sized shock - stroke and eye to eye.
You could try a heavier spring.I don't do smileys.

You're never going to make a big hit climb well. The suspension linkage is designed for downhill and not compromised for climbing ability.
Even if you could get a shock the right size with a lock you've still got terrible geometry for climbing.
Sell it and get something more suitable.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
