Fair play indeed. Don't think I've seen him even contest a sprint after a hilly stage, never mind that!0

Kittel the mountain goat.
Wow.
That was a pretty decent finish for such a short climb.0 -
I keep forgetting this is on.0

Not great quality, but does the job. My new quality control for video clip resolution is "Can I see Cav's stroppy expression after an incident and can I lip-read his swearing?"…(he crashes with 10km to go…)0 -

Hasn't he seen Hatta Dam?
Saw that you commented on the CN article on FB.. quite a lot of people it appears haven't seen the route, including Kittel perhaps?
Yep. I was hugely wrong.
Fair play.0 -
Me too. Nearly put Rebellin in my team, but thought no, surely won't still be at the sharp end!
Wrong about that too0 -

Not a housewife but I am *sad face*
Poor Bernie0 -
Despite looking like a dining table being winched up the Hatta Dam, Kittel pulled a blinder there.0

I bet that after a nuclear holocaust they'll be out there yee-hah-ing and whooping it up and thinking they're the proverbial dogs gonads.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -

Kittel, Viviani, Cavendish0

Cav outclassed again0
-
On stages where they have gone head-to-head in a sprint:
2016
Kittel 2 Cav 0
2014
Kittel 2 Cav 0
2013
Kittel 4 Cav 0
2012
Kittel 2 Cav 0
(there are of course results where one or the other won but the other was a non-runner in the sprint)0 -
Cavendish Finished
Until he "silences the doubters" when Kittel isn't around
On a serious note, nice to see Kittel riding so well again. DiData have a bit of work to do but they'll get here I'm sure.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Does anyone know what was truly wrong with Kittel last year? Was he depressed or something?0

The line put forward was that he was ill about this time last year and therefore never really got his season going. I think there was also a bit of a breakdown between him and the team thereafter. He was entered into Tour de Yorkshire with not enough preparation (telling reporters beforehand that his fitness could be better and he would see how it goes) and very publically abandoned on the TV about an hour later on stage 1 after being dropped like Compo from Last of the Summer Wine chasing an elderly bit of skirt in a fleeing car. That was May I think? He did come back but the band was clearly breaking up and Degenkolb's highly successful spring just made it worse.0 -

All that. Added to which was the whole not taking him to the TdF saga. Think Kittel felt good, the team were less sure and unwilling to risk building their team around him.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -
I see Cav said he recorded his highest power output. Makes sense why he put Q rings on now as they are known to over read. Haha.
Edit. Just seen that the rotor PM doesnt suffer with this.0 -
to me that sounds like a little fib to try convince people he isn't done. which he clearly is."Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0

I think the QS train suits Kittel quite well.
Kittel is good if he's place right at the front of the sprint just as it kicks off at 200-250m to go - he's very difficult to come around. Bit Cippolini-esq. I can't remember ever seeing someone come off Kittel's wheel to win.
If Cavendish is to beat him he needs to stop trying to slingshot past his wheel and start in front of him...0 -
I just logged in to ask how Cav is getting on. Oh...0

Kittel may have stuck with Pip and Canc to the dam but he ain't going to do it over the Poggio... not riding MSR.0
