Tacx App Minor Question

I've been using the Tacx app with my Neo on my iPad Mini - I like it.
A quick question though - on the videos (and maybe other areas) the speed reading has and speedo icon. On mine the speedo needle position changes and goes from grey to blue - this seems to happen almost randomly but I have no idea what it's telling me - anybody know?
All I can find is that it might indicate that on manual resistance trainers, you need to move the resistance setting. I suppose, on the Neo, it could just indicate the automatic changes are taking place?
