I feel a bit lame given I'm getting by on 5 pairs of socks and 2 pairs of bibs (plenty of SS jerseys though). I do seem to spend most of my time washing the damn stuff; this thread has confirmed my suspicion that I need to buy more things.

Just got the Alpha jacket today from Wiggle @ £146.99 incl. £2.99 for p+p.

Unfortunately, I got it before I went out on the arctic for a peddle today so couldn't test it out.
There's so little to it and it is so light, does it actually do the job?! I went for medium and it is a touch tight on my shoulders but a good fit nonetheless. Cannot wait to try it out but I am sceptical...

Mrs LTR has been on my case about how much cycle-specific clothing I have (after returning another waterproof and ordering an alternative on the basis of trying to get a better fit). So, decided to list mine last night, just to see. I won't re-list it here but let's just say it ran to 124 separate items

Definitely going to try to lay off the clothing purchases for a while. Trouble is, have decided I "need" some Nanoflex leg warmers to go with that Catelli CX skin suit. Reckon this is going to be difficult...
Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...

Your missus told me that if you were to count all the individual socks and not just the pairs, it would far exceed 124 items!

Oh, don't. that takes it to 144. And if I count right and left hand gloves I get to 184! Placed the order for those leg warmers last night too (a pair of unused Castelli bibknickers bought in Xmas sales may be going back to compensate though)

Ordered a long sleeve merino base layer to compliment the newly acquired Alpha jacket. Had a good look around the usual suspects and came up with one from Wiggle @ £34 approx.. Then came that light bulb moment - "What if one is in the wash and I need to go pedalling?", followed by the heap big sigh moment "£78 quid, eeek" just so I can torture myself in cold weather.
Had a Google at it and bought the second from Amazon - Mountain Warehouse at £24. So I could have spent just £48 quid. I will now have the 'pleasure' of seeing which one is best. I do hope they are as good as each other. I would be loathed to send one back and i'm not sure I would be in my rights either and for the sake of a tenner with a company I have nothing but praise for, it won't happen.

    The tally:
    6 base layers
    2 Merino base layers
    1 PR bib tights
    1 Light Bib tights
    2 pairs bib shorts
    1 pair shorts
3 woolly hats of varying thickness
    4 pairs of various gloves
    6 S/S jerseys (2 for framing)
    1 Thermal jacket
    1 waterproof jacket
    1 windproof jacket
    3 vests
    1 Alpha Jacket
    5 pairs summer socks
    3 pairs sock liners
    1 pair track mitts
    1 pair over shoes

Seems like I am a lightweight.

    I have the following:

    1. 8 x pairs of bib-shorts
    2. 3 x pairs of winter bib tights (1 x unpadded)
    3. 7 x SS Jerseys
    4. 2 x LS Jerseys
    5. 1 x Altura Varium jacket
    6. 3 x windproof LS jersey/jackets (inc 1 x hi-viz Dare2B windproof jacket)
    7. 1 x windproof gilet
    8. 2 x Fleeces LS jersey
    9. 1 x Softshell jacket
    10. 2 x pairs of leg warmers
    11. 1 x arm warmers
    12. 2 x cycling caps (summer)
    13. 2 x thermal skull caps
    14. 1 x full face balaclava
    15. 1 x neck warmer
    16. 3 x long finger gloves (thin, medium & deep winter)
    17. 3 x fingerless gloves
    18. 5 x pairs of glasses (1x photochromic, 1x polarized, 2 x yellow lens, 1 x clear lens)
    19. 3 x overshoes (1 x heavy duty winter, 1 x winter/thermal, 1 x neoprene)
    20. 2 x cycling shoes (1 x carbon sole, 1 x regular sole)
    21. 2 x LS baselayer
    22. 1 x SS baselayer
    23. 2 x baselayer compression shorts
    24. N+1 socks

I haven't actually bought cycle clothing in over 6 months and the last thing I bought was a pair of Castelli Arenberg gloves which I got in a sale for less than 1/2 price so they don't really count.

I'll admit, I probably do have enough kit at this stage.

    FTFY.

    Surely that's a better analogy.

Amazed at how much kit some of you have. I am threadbare on comparison........

    3 short sleeved jerseys (2 x Torm, 1 x Rapha)
    1 long sleeved Jersey(Torm)
2 short sleeve base layers (Under Armour, both from my football days)
1 long sleeved base layer (Also Under Armour)
1 long sleeved thermal base layer (Another Under Armour item)
    1 Gabba (the convertible one)
    1 rain jacket (Castelli)
    1 helmet (Kask)
    1 cold weather cap (Rapha)
3 pairs bibshorts (specialized, Asos, Rapha)
    1 pair three-quarters bibshorts (Rapha)
    2 pairs arm warmers (Castelli)
    1 pair knee warmers (Castelli)
    5 pairs socks
    1 pair shoes (specialized)
2 pairs gloves (1 for winter from Sealskinz, 1 for normal riding from specialized I think)
1 pair cheap glassed with interchangeable lenses, can't remember the make
1 pair waterproof Belgian booties (Sealskinz)

Everything gets used each year, and I'm not yet finding that I am without what I need so think the balance is about right. Will soon be buying new shoes though as my current ones have never been massively comfortable, and an argument with the verge on Box Hill gave my right shoe a good scraping so that's my excuse.....!!!!!

I'm looking for a pair of Sidi road shoes size 9 - surely you don't need 4 pairs? :D

I think the ones I don't use might be only 43s or 8s. The mountain bike shoes might be 20 years old, they have'nt seen a lot of use recently.

Oh well, worth a try. If you accidentally purchase a pair of brand new black Sidi Genius 5 size 9 and forget to send them back, just pass the on to me please. I'll even cover postage. Ta.

Actually 3 pairs are 42s, my new pair are 42.5 wide fitting in order to try and sort out a foot problem caused by 40 years of wearing rock climbing shoes.
Other than getting a bit battered they don't seem to wear out.

You're right. The Velcro is finally going on my '97 Sidi's. They have been a very reliable pair of shoes. I do not know how many pairs of cleats from the old LOOK cleats to the Keo Max Carbon have been fitted to them.
