Nobody needs a drink after 15 minutes of riding correct. You probably wont die.

Personally, I'm shocked and saddened that Evans didn't provide a team/support and small caravan (as in Tour de France people giving away sausages and plastic tat, not thieving gyppos robbing old grannies for really poor tarmacing) travel with him.
After all, look at the evidence: Emonda. Fresh club kit. Strava. Requirement for cage and bidon. This man is a serious cyclist who takes his nutrition and trying seriously and professionally.testing last year's bike means he's a canny buyer as well.
They obviously had no idea who they were dealing with.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

OP. As you can see boredom is a terrible thing and the mood and output of the contributors of this forum will lighten in line with the evenings drawing out.
Did you buy the dale? From your narrative it seems the shop sells volume rather than service? The two don't have to be exclusive but any benefits of a good deal drop away if you go through the pain barrier with any future issues.
And while the commentary around your intake of fluids may seem intrusive, unwarranted and unwelcome it's still valid.

just out of interest, why are the comments valid? i thought they were verging on the bullying.
i just cant see why all this "concern" ? its got xxxx all to do with anyone and tbh if i was going out for a test ride an hour long i d take some water too, as my test ride would inc sprints, some hill work and tt efforts. JRA for an hour is pointless, might as well stick to the car park :?0 -

The concern is valid and the comments are another matter entirely?
Fluid intake and what contributes to test ride on a new bike are all subjective?“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring”

Concern? give over
but your right, its subjective, the guy asked about buying a Trek, now thats a matter for concern in its self, but diagnosing a serious illness based on a comment about his desire for a drink? i did check the date first just in case this warm weather was because we d moved toward April !st.0 -
The excessive water drinking thing led me to ask a close relative to go to the doctors.
They did and they were shocked to be told they had diabetes. A very fit young person too.
It's really not normal to need a drink after a 15 minute bike ride.0 -
Exactly the same with a good friend's 15yo son, started getting thirsty all the time, he collapsed a couple of weeks ago and he VERY nearly died, only came out of hospital last week. His bloods were over 40.
FWIW I don't have a drink in a 25 mile TT or less, I take a bottle with me on other rides but usually just as a habit. It usually comes back virtually full.
As an other aside, did you buy the bike?Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

This thread has really delivered the lolz. What wheels deadened the bike? Would be a nice bike to ride around the Peak District I imagine.0

I think your impression of funny and mine are on two very different wave lengths.
I bet your still sitting there now chuckling away at your last attempt at a pun.0 -
I must admit that I am - its been an extremely good morning so far and although I'm still not really firing on all cylinders I am quite happy with what I perceive to be a 4 or 5 out of 10 kinda pun.
Anyhow, the coffee is flowing, the sun is shining and all is good in the world - water problem to have, eh ..............Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I'm still not convinced you can tell much from a test ride other than about the tyres.0

I'm still not convinced you can tell much from a test ride other than about the tyres. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Sorry to reignite a very old thread however I just thought I'd post to reassure everyone that I am very much still alive and well. You will be pleased to know(or not in some cases) that I don't have diabetes and I'm as fit and healthy as ever.
And for those that have spent the last year or so on a knife edge wondering whether I bought the bike or not then the answer is no I didn't. I bought a 2015 Focus Cayo 1.0 instead.0
