Slow Windows 10 streaming

Just bought a HP Pavilion laptop with Windows 10 and the internet seems to be a bit slow compared to my previous laptop. In particular when streaming things like You Tube or iPlayer. Anyone else experienced this? Any ideas? I tried using Chrome rather than Explorer which was a little quicker, but not much. Any ideas anyone?

Try updating wifi drivers

disable background services, such as ms update services p2p under win update0 -
W10 seems to be more affected by the multitude of scripts that run on the back of web sites, and the dialogues that go on between client & server.
My W10 speeded up hugely when I replaced the hosts file with the one supplied from this place: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm
Made a huge difference, and still does. You can easily edit it to add your own entries, and check that all IPs are set to 0.0.0.0 and not sneakily connecting elsewhere.0 -
OK, thanks everyone. Gives me a few things to try out.0
