nothing like a trip down memory lane eh?0

Ah well, you got 2 more years out of them so not too bad really. New rims are about £60 if you can be bothered to sort them out again. Don't chuck them though if you don't fix them - great for posh turbo wheels if nothing else

Thanks again. Buying rims is a good idea, although wheels are a whole new world to me and I don't have any wheel building tools. I do like the 'excuse' to get new wheels as I've ridden on Mavic KE's for 4 years and would like to try something different. Budget is around £400 and saw some DT Swiss RR21's on wiggle for £400, which is about £200 cheaper than anywhere else. I think Hunt, Ultegra and DT Swiss are the ones to choose between at the moment. Need to do some reading up!0

Ive had exactly the same type of rim crack in 2 Ksyrium elite rear wheels. Got Zondas now and had no problems.0

I have a set of the Hunt Aero Race Wide's and they are great IMO, light, spin well and feel very responsive, I rate them.
I am also considerably heavier than you and they cope fine.Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated!0 -
IIRC more recent Ksyrium Elites are ever so lightly heavier than my originals (2010), specifically to address this, I think, so I'd be interrested if this problem is still occurring in more recent wheels. Given their price it's not really good enough, even if they do replace them under warranty if failing with 2 years. Mine, of course, was three years old.0
