I've a CAADX that creaked but it's easily fixed. You just need to get on with it rather than moaning and throwing a consumer strop :D

Green is the only allowable colour for a new Cannondale (as opposed to an historic relic). Don't listen to him :D

Ballox. I've got a new(ish) 2015 Synapse Carbon Ultegra which IMHO looks rather fetching in light blue:

The bonus is that with the red ally nipples and dust caps on the Fulcrum wheels, it's a perfect match for the blue and red colour of my eyes.

As an aside, it's got the BB30A bottom bracket and I have never heard a squeak (or creak) out of it. Then again, it's only done about 1100 miles so far.

Does it also come with the stem on the right way up? :-D
  • Pauls have Cannondale Evo Red 2014 for £1650, was £3800 RRP. That's a bargain. I was tempted I reckon I could flog the parts for £1400 on eBay and get the Frame for £250!

Full SRAM Red, Cranks fetch £200+ on eBay other bits worth a bit.

Bob, When you get to my age you will realise that comfort through not having to bend your back too far takes priority over looking like a boy racer.

Epic cycles at the end of the year get rid of their demo models on ebay. Since there is a new iteration of the EVO and the CAAD - I would not be surprised if they start selling their Evo and CAAD models from last year - usually 54 and 56s.
I got lucky a couple of years back and picked up a Supersix evo himod for less than £2000.
  • I keep on coming back to these, even just for the frame and keep the bits back as spares. Natural upgrade from my CAAD10.

If anyone comes across a 52 or 54cm 2014 Red Racing frame in blue, let me know!

Then what happened? A few miles later it creaked again? Everyone knows bb30 is sh!te, especially for some unknown reason when that bb30 is at the bottom of a 'dale. Not so much a consumer strop as Cannondale admitting that particular frame was outside of manufacturing tolerances and thus unfixable.

Cannondale green isn't even a very nice shade of green, and I like green....

What a load of old tosh, I have never had a single creak coming out of my SuperSix, so not every single cannondale has that problem, I know other people who do not have those problems.

I've got a noise on mine that only seems to happen in big ring when giving it full beans on top 4 or 5 cogs so it can't be the bottom bracket but had gears, rear hub and cassette checked again and again and it's getting a bit annoying, apart from that its ace.

Maybe Cannondale are getting better at building BB30 with more accurate tolerances but there are plenty of stories of the dreaded BB30 creak.

With my System Six I was probably taking the BB apart and reinstalling about once every 10 days in the end, drove me mad.

Still if I were the OP I would have that green SuperSix Evo and if the creaking started then at least I would be happy that there are now decent solutions/after market parts/adaptors out there to fix the issue!

That white/blue/red one looks great as well, the only thing that would put me off is SRAM, tried it and hated it but each to their own.

I haven't yet managed to ride my new synapse - waiting for rim tape, but will keep my ears peeled for creaks!

You won't hear any if you don't ride it.... :D
  • I will order tomorrow. I might give it a spin if it ever stops raining (December?) But I think I'll stick it in the loft till Spring.

  • I must warranty both my 'dales. Try as I might I just can't get them to creak. Obviously defective.

Dales have never been on my radar until I saw that green beauty and my LBS sent a tweet stating they've been appointed a dale dealer.

    Enjoy in good health

  • Done, whilst not appearing on Evans system there was a 60 in store. Interrogated the system using the code and 54 was in stock. Kind word with the manager led to a price match.

    Congratulations
How much did it cost you then ?
I love mine in Sram Force variant but I am now almost wishing I had gone for the green as the Mavic Ksyrium Elites I bought from CRC have come with 1 green decal on each side of the wheels  no mention of it on the adverts either and CRC just replied and pretty much said send them back if you don't like it, no apology for it not being mentioned on the web page. No wonder they had 50% off !
Oh and advert for the front said 25c tyre, came with a 23c.

  • £1319.99. Effectively as if I'd bought from Pauls with priority despatch (Evans do next day into store so I though that was fair enough).

I should also get that £20 voucher for spending over £100

    Nice one 8)

I would check the bike carefully to make sure it comes with everything they specify - mine came with the wrong size and material of seatpost, and latterly I have realised it came with rigid as opposed to the specified folding tyres.
Not overly bothered as I flogged them onto someone in my local club, but just saying for reference.

    oh and pics please!

  • I shall check carefully! Tyres should be fine as they are the Aksion model that come with the Aksium range.

    Will check the seatpost carefully............

  • Awesome deals around on these, unfortunately just blown our savings on a new roof instead.

It's a no brainer seemingly. Keep looking at Scotts, Lapierres, etc. But keep coming back to Dale.

I have a 105 one and its brilliant for the money.
  • I did spend a day agonising again. The PX RT80 disc was down to a good price. The new Eastway stuff at Wiggle looked good. Some nice Lapierre's knocking around. Scott Solace at Pauls was another one. But they were all lesser in some small way, things like alloy seatposts, or lesser wheels and tyres. I will get some great wheels when I do the Marmotte but, for now, Aksium WTS S version at 1740g are absolutely fine.
