Hidden in a daily thread because I can't be bothered with 6 pages of rubbish.......... What is the best winter jacket - is it a rapha Hardshell?
Castelli Alpha Jacket. Fookin expensive and I meant to get one in the summer when it was down to £167 at Wiggle. Read every review and they are A1, hardly a bad comment. The worst criticism was that it was a little tight off the bike but just right on it and it is much better to go and try one for size before you buy. You're not far from Wolverhampton are you?
Is it waterproof (ish)? The thing is I run warm, or, still in bib shorts0 -
I'm just going to turn up here and sponge off the tax payer as per normal. Port. in my past times hangin' with the RE many a bottle was consumed so have a taste for it but it does leave that furry tongue feeling......
Today has actually been really good - chilled out. Tomorrow's gonna turn hectic but nothing a quick beer at the end of the day won't sort.
Re skiing - why not somewhere like the Abruzzo - cheaper, untouched by the hordes, stunning, full of Italian chicks. Worth a punt ............. Great riding as well in the summer (if it's good enough for the Giro....).
Ciao.
Aye up duck.
Where tf have you been that's not taxpayers money you're spending ?
What's the name of that place downstairs in Covent Garden that sells wine and port by the glass? I got well wrecked there innit once. Is it still there?seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

Not for heavy showers.

alpha if it is wet, rapha for pure temp. Mate has an alpha but i'd keep my rapha based on race repair (and the discount on the purchase.

Scandi resorts are cool, good apres, limited skiing if you want the extreme off piste though. Beer price is ok due to blonde hair and boobs.
With so many linked resorts these days it becomes pick an area. I was never a fan of Les Arcs. Courch is great for a mixed group except the russians, but is limited on the fun time apres.
La Grave for pure skiing, Cham can be fun but getting to and from areas is a PITA
The places connected to St Anton aren't as fun but do give the skiing. Italy has a few options but again lack of blondes for you!
Chamonix is great with a car so you can ski Argentiere then eat n drink in Cham itself. Val and Meribel are pretty fail safe. St. Anton is fantastic if you're a p1ss head. Trouble is, I've done them all, quite a few times.
And oddly enough I do like my skiing."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

Posh git. All that stuff about the Jacket potato van was lies.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
I bought mine with a 20% code. Only thing for heavy showers I've heard is worth anything is the castelli tempest. I just accept getting wet as long as I stay warm, hence the Rapha
Thought about Kitz, Maryhofen, Monta Rosa or Grindlewald/Wenger?
2nd one has a good party, the others can't say it was a party just relaxed n chilled0 -

Final question..... Hardshell better than softshell0 -
Softshell all day imo as long as you are out riding and can up the tempo if needed. The commuters may argue against.
Reasoning being that be it cycling/climbing/skiing the breathability to reduce sweat within is of higher benefit than the fact you can get wet. As long as you are able to keep moving then even when wet you will stay warm.
Too many harshells are great in a torrent of rain but you just sweat within and it has nowhere to go. This can mean that you have a harder time regulating body temp.
Gruber and his wife were raving about the tempest as a windshield/rain jacket/early morning coat until you get warm. He admitted that it was free but he hasn't used anything better in the wet and it packs small enough to be used as your early start/wind jacket.

The worst sushi I ever had was at Gatwick Airport. The portions on the conveyor belt were way too big and tasted very luggagey.Pinno, מלך אידיוט וחרא מכונאי0

Hi sweet pea, hope all is well.
Have been in the sunnier climes, so have some amusing tan lines. Am now back in the rain until January at which point I have to head off again, so am trying to make the most of it. So far we have away most of January, most of Feb, March. Great.
Ref C/G - can't remember off hand but know exactly the place you mean. The last time I was there I was poured out of one of the restaurants that make up the top floor on the company of a wonderful, kind, sweet, ridiculously stunning intelligent lawyer chick: amazing education, demeanor, dress sense, social etiquette, career path and prestige amongst her peers. Erudite, witty, flirtatious when needed. Fantastic hair, eyes, bearing. Gravitas. Poise. That middle eastern look that I find so ridiculously attractive. Smashing norks. Wonderful, wonderful lady.
But never mind that - head across to classic bikes to discuss my new steed and the direction that the project will take whilst I spend your money on it. And while I'm working on it whilst I should be working for you lot (so to speak) I shall giggle insanely like a fool.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Deep sigh. I met a girl from Israel in a bar in Cambridge like that. Stunning, jaw dropping.
5 women that I have met on my travels that were truly gorgeous, naturally gorgeous. The sort of women that would probably look stunning first thing in the morning without a jot of make up and hair all over the place.
1. The above
2. Adele at Cavendish house, Che;tenham
3. Some Polish bird waiting for her bus back to Poland
4. Blonde thing with curly hair waiting for the unisex toilet at the Cafe Storken, Uppsala
5. Sandra Rombouts, ex professional for Rabobank. Was a pen friend for a long while but could not get her romantically inclined - too dedicated to her proffession and lived with Dad
Anyway, gtg - Spaghetti for me, Penne Rigate for the girls.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
