I have seen this website and wondered if it is any good as something to use during winter? I was looking to start using Zwift but as I am not sure how often I will actually use a turbo trainer, I cannot commit to paying a monthly fee, despite the fact it looks pretty good.
From what I can make out, all I will need is an Ant+ dongle to hook up with my speed/cadence sensor, and I can get all sorts of information through the laptop and also compete in virtual racing.
It also says it is compatible with an iPad but I assume it is limited as you cannot connect and Ant+ stick to an iPad.
Anyway, if anyone has any comments on this, please let me know.

It looks like a free to use version of Trainer Road - since I cancelled my TR sub to pay for Zwift I might give it a look!
Yes all you should need is the ANT+ dongle for your speed sensor (as long as that is ANT+!)
And you can get an ANT+ dongle for iPad - this one http://uk.wahoofitness.com/devices/wahoo-key-16.html I have it for my iPhone and it works (you need a 30pin to lightening adapater)
There is a £5 a month charge for premium membership, I think that gives you access to more workouts etc.0 -

Thanks for this. I see that Garmin offer a similar product for about half the price, although the reviews are not as good0 -

Don't buy that one, that's locked down to only work with Garmin apps. The Wahoo one is the only one on the market AFAIK that will work with anything.0 -

Thats the problem there - you need to commit.
Go to Trainerroad and check out their programs and see if you can find one that suits your time and your commitment. Its only what a tenner a month and you can ask for your money back if you're not happy.0 -
Appears to be a British version of TR for a fiver a month. Will give it a try.0

My Garmin one works fine with Zwift, and turbotraining.co.uk says that it's compatible.0 -

We're talking about two different things. One is the Garmin ANT+ USB stick which you're right does work with Zwift etc.
The other is the Garmin ANT+ dongle for iPhones & iPads which is locked down to their app.0 -
I have been using the free trial on this and it has been really helping me train properly. I select my workout and then basically match the power line to the target profile. I noticed they are doing a black Friday promo for £35 for the year.
My main aim is to get faster over distances such as 10 & 25 miles. Hoping this software will help!0
