Is this forum doomed?

I don't think the forum is doomed but it's nowt like it was. I don't post anywhere near as much as I used to.
I've come to the conclusion (rightly or wrongly) cycling is predominantly a sport/hobby persued by those of right wing political opinions, if this forum is owt to go by. I can't be bothered to keep arguing the toss with people I've never met.
If we were sat around a table though that would be different.
Majority right wing?
Stevo and myself are in a small minority of clear thinking people.0 -

On top of that, the whole thing has become dull and there's only so much anyone can discuss about cycling or how many times it's necessary to explain punctures, indexing, road positioning etc. For me the final clincher was some chuffing halfwit who decided that because I'd had a lot of bother with Di2 (that the dealer and ulitmately the manufacturers did manage to resolve after a long investigation) I was apparently an illiterate idiot who couldn't even deal with the cable colour coding or something. He was banned, but that's not the point. There's not much new to discuss after a while, and the world is full of morons.0 -

And equally, popping on here to have a read of what's what and be faced with - let's be frank Frank - your endlessly tedious leftist dullardry banging on about the evils of a Tory govt compared with the beautiful utopia of a Labour govt + strong unions was a part of what drove me away. I don't come on here to be lectured or to have my views dismissed as those of reactionary nutcase. There's having a view, and having a go. I got bored of the latter; not just you, but predominantly you.
That is pretty poor TBH.
I don't think Frank has ever espoused a Labour utopia. It is irrelevant. This adage comes to mind, "I may not agree with you but you have a right to say it". Besides, you can always avoid the political threads - there aren't many in Cake Stop and there are none in BB, Road General, Road Beginners...

yeah there are more right wingers on bikes these days, but maybe thats because cycling is no longer a working mans activity, if it ever was?
tbh most people, cyclists or not, have zero interest in politics but on this forum - cake stop, i would say that Bally and Stev0 are just about in the minority and rightly so0 -
