32mm clinchers. Look at Vittoria Randonneur Pro, 120tpi and roll well.

I had the privilege of borrowing a pair of Mavic Open 4's on Chorus hubs with Vittoria tubs eons ago and the closest I have got to that 'feeling' are my Michelin Pro 3's with latex inner tubes (25mm).
Have been riding 25mm's for a good couple of years. Both winter and summer bikes tyres are shot and so I need to get a couple of pairs of new tyres. I ride Conti's on the C40 (winter scaffolding) and Michelin's on the Wilier and fancied a change, Maybe even 28mm's if the frame will allow and quite willing to fork out the extra for Vittoria Evo's as long as the ride quality is better. F*cking roads are diabolical around here. Pretty sure the C40 will accommodate them.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
