As well as a Garmin Edge 1000, I recently picked up the new(ish) Garmin Epix for multisport but also because you can essentially build your own software solutions for it.
That can be new Data Fields (like on the Edge = speed, power ertc) (I built a Variability Index Data Field Recently)
or whole apps. The image below is an activity view with power curve I've been working on recently too.
The projects pages are here (part 1 and part 2
I was wondering if anyone else had dabbled in this at all or had any decent suggestions for metrics. I've seen some rubbish built so far by others like "How many beers you earn't from a ride" etc, however it could do so much more.

Haven't played with it, but knowing how many matches you've burned would be useful for training and racing.

I agree re matches, and suspect the best way of doing this would be to implement a W' balance metric, as Golden Cheetah has for post ride analysis. I think GC also has W' balance as a field in its 'Train' view for live use on the turbo, but have never used this.
There's a discussion around W' balance on the GC forum, incl a link to a video explaining what its all about, here:

and a tutorial on how GC has implemented it here:

I have absolutely no idea about how the technical coding side of things works!0 -
This is great, good work!
I've got a Fenix 3 and I'm always looking eagerly for new apps being published for it.0 -
I did write a proper reply to all of this but for some reason its getting called spam?
Moderator? Any reason?0
