La Vuelta '15 #12 Escaldes-Engordany/Lleida **SPOILERS**
Withdrawals
207 PAULINHO Sergio TCS withdrawal
182 ISAICHEV Vladimir KAT DNS
89 VEIKKANEN Jussi FDJ withdrawal
53 HARDY Romain COF withdrawal
48 TXURRUKA ANSOLA Amets CJR withdrawal
Escaldes-Engordany. Andorra / Lleida
Looks like a bit of a nothing day - but this race has been odd so far and it could turn out as exciting.
After yesterday there will be a majority of the peleton wanting to treat this as a recovery ride.
Would seem breakaway territory - but that is a long run in from the summit of the Cat 2. But will anyone help Giant? BTW the bookies actually have an odds-on favourite - which I don't think I have seen for a proper stage race

Better add Froome to list of withdrawals. Out with fractured foot.0

Riders protest today?
In the old days they'd be sat at the start line, waiting for a chat with the organisers before rolling out slowly. I hope for something similar today, as two riders from the same team knocked off by motos within a week is scandalous. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

true, these moto incidents have really tarnished the vuelta. hoping for some good clean racing with no crashes caused by outside influences.0 -

BBC reports 'Froome said he was "knocked sideways into a barrier and stone wall" early in the 11th stage'
So was he hit by someone but is keeping a diplomatic silence?0 -

Yeah, this has been catching my attention
The Beeb are quoting from the official Sky update on their website
Either he WAS hit and is keeping schtum on who and how - for whatever reason
Or its to deflect from his own inattention being the root cause0 -

Could have been a team-mate.0 -
Or he didn't see who it was, or he realised it was an accident!0

You're weird. I don't like Froome very much and I doubted he would do much here. Loosing competitors by whatever means isn't great for the race.0 -

Yep its awsome, Tyler Hamilton did a TDF stage into Bayon with a broken shoulder once.0 -

For the team mate to have then scarpered so fast up the road away from his leader that he was nowhere in sight when the TV moto got to Froome? Not very likely, is it0 -

I find it pretty sad that the peloton these days has no teeth. They are not willing to take a stand but are willing to complain now and again when they are not on the macadam.
At least Armstrong had balls (or maybe that should read, one big ball).
Hold em up in Milan if you remember, during the Giro.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Not so good for TdF 2016 if that was why Froome was doing the Vuelta

Are Tinkoff racing?!

Cycling news have quoted him saying that the road narrowed and in the squeeze he got knocked sideways. Very classy of him to say, he could have started throwing his kit at an innocent bystander then dropped out claiming a broken leg and sever ligament damage."Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0 -

What an odd insinuation you're making by mentioning Hamilton. So Froome managed to ride with a broken foot because he's a doper? As the poster above said, you're weird.Giant Trance X 2010

You've made that linkage. tyler hamilton did that, and it happens that he was a doper. it also happens he had a broken bone (or more). the linkage is broken bones surely, whether they took drugs or whatever in my view is irrelevant....0 -

Peloton 3'05" behind breakaway with 65km to go. What is the point of a stage that is all downhill, vuelta organizers are idiots0
