67km, a few riders shooting out the chasing pack has brought their gap down to 57 secs but the peloton is still at 4.3I hope this cracks off shortly. So far it holds nothing on the Giro stage.
These very hard stages are more often than not very conservative.
Sometimes yes. Sometimes no.
2011 Giro stage 15 it was all over the place from a long way out. Garzelli and Nieve had massive solo rides.
Giro stage 16 that Quintana blasted last year in the snow; likewise.

Roughly halfway into the stage and not a drop of rain. Going to need a storming second half to make this epic.Contador is the Greatest0

Romain Sicard in virtual 2nd place 16 secs behind Dumoulin. Surprised they are not chasing him back especially with rain forecast for last half?0

Is it fair to say that we could have got the same race so far without the first 3 mountains..?0

Is it fair to say that we could have got the same race without the first 3 mountains..?
I'd say so. It's much the same as a 250km flat stage that's always going to end as a sprint. Might as well have a 150km one instead.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -

Of course, but some legs are gunna crack on that final climb, that is why you need to have some leg breakers first...Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0 -
Coppel attacked the chasers and was later joined by Boswell, Poljanski and Sicard, who were joined by Landa and Atapuma.
Sicard is virtual race leader.

If it had been a long flat run to a final MTF we would be listening to complaints about a hockey stick stage perfect for team sky.0 -
