i am fairly nervous about being an early adopter, but think i will risk it with P1, it is a toss up between that an p2m though.
If i was in the position of having a non-working vector pair (as above) i would be trying to get a refund on them.0 -
There hasn't been a single problem free first-gen PM in recent memory...English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

^ so that means this time it is more likely to be problem free!
(statistical illiterate humor) :P
Though there are problems and PROBLEMS.
if it wasn't for the "travel without a bike" aspect of pedals, i would def go power2max.
The bluetooth (no dongle savings) and extra fun of additional (though mostly useless metrics).
Most big stores are pretty good with refunding faulty goods within warranty without hassle (and quick).
I am aware that there are some teething problems with the P1 hopefully its easy firmware stuff
(spikes for example).0 -
Wow Stueys, that is bad! Sorry to hear the ballache you've had. Just read the link, had no idea there was an issue like this. Hen again didn't know there was a firmware update, just as well by the looks of things! I know it's probably too late and you've had enough of them, but is there a way to reinstall the previous firmware? (Probably tried it, but just a thought)
Nope, for reasons that escape me garmin haven't offered that as an option. To be fair to garmin they've sent me a brand new set of pedals to see if that resolves the problem, they don't run away from issues. But on the other hand it's taken them four months to issue any acknowledgment or action plan around the problem, and if you check their forum out there is a lot of noise.
If yours are working then count yourself lucky.....and don't touch the firmware.... ever....0 -

Oh no it isn't (twice the price of P1 or Vector 2 as per original post)!
A lot more, yes, but can you find a complaint? Some things are often worth the extra.
All a matter of choice naturally.0 -
Infocrank is way too much money for what it is. You can get a lightly used SRM for a few hundred less.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

Equally so and you won't get a complaint from me with a P2M. Does exactly what I need and as posted earlier, where is the advantage in having accurate rather than estimated readings for L/R balance? There isn't any.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0 -
Personally love my Quarq Riken. Rides that have killed my friend's Stages and it still goes strong. Days where I'm absolutely sodden, soaked to the bone, Riken is top notch.

Judging by everyone I know with a Stages, not covering the thing head to toe in electrical tape. I think once you cover the cranks in tape, your stages is okay.0
