Upgraded to the 3.2 version which didnt go as smooth mainly due to the fact that just .json files are now the default files that GC creates and stores.
I did backup my ride data - 3 years worth and a good job I did as initially the upgrade import didnt work that well and the display was all at sea.
I trashed the v3 install and its directories incl the ride directory (having saved it elsewhere)
A vanilla load of 3.2 .. I created myself as new athlete and imported my shed load of tcx and fit files.
They imported nicely.
The new version has a few new features - TSB displayed as an front page metric for instance.. dynamically referencing any ride back in time.
It all seems ok...
