Brilliant for drafting.0 -
Because you dont need anything other than driving licence (No bike test).
But i agree"If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."
PX Kaffenback 2 = Work Horse
B-Twin Alur 700 = Sundays and Hills0 -
Actually I'm not bothered by them: they seem to be a lot quieter than most scooters / mopeds - of which the noisier sort should just be banned.0

Because you go to buy a motorbike, the salesman recognises you're a bit of a weapon and thinks 'here's a laugh, i'll sell him a scooter' during that process he realises your a weapon so large he can get anything past you, so he thinks 'I know i'll sell him one of these 3 wheel jobs, what c*nt is dumb enough to buy that!'
you walk out the dealership feeling like you got a good deal, but there is a nagging doubt in the back of your mind you've been mugged off as the salesman spotted you for being a bit of a c*nt.If I know you, and I like you, you can borrow my bike box for £30 a week. PM for details.0 -
One simple question: Why? Really, why?
I know a chap who rides one, can only walk with crutches and can't put a foot down reliably when he stops, obvious innit?Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Right, fair enough for him (her). But what about the other numpties on them? And why do they beep so much? I mean, they beep for everything - stop, start, indicate.

Because mummy won't let you take the stabilisers off...FCN3: Titanium Qoroz.0
-
They're a lot more stable especially in the wet apparently i.e. harder to come off. Thats basically it.
If you dont care what they look like and just want to commute i.e. like 99% of motorbikers on the roads then they could be an option.
Bloody expensive though and not my cup of tea but each to their own.0 -

I'd be tempted to get one - as they are classed as a car and not a motorbike you don't have to wear a helmet0

I think they are brilliant...left the forum March 20230

I was thinking about one when I was looking at a Scooter. Both my Mrs and I have mashed scooters in SE Asia and I think the only way she'd let me have one would be if it had three wheels.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX
Race - Fuji Norcom Straight
Sun - Cervelo R3
Winter / Commute - Dolan ADX0 -

ETA: There is one made by Piaggio that you can ride without a lid and on a car licence as it has a track over 465mm.0 -
One simple question: Why? Really, why?You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

it is virtually impossible to low-side it in any conditions
As opposed to high-side, which rarely happens on a push bike.

I like to think that in the next few unseen frames he vaults back onto the bike CX style and rejoins the race0 -
If you`d ever ridden one, you`d know why.
The confidence you can put in the front end of these things is unreal.Trek,,,, too cool for school ,, apparently0 -

Didn't need to, he crossed the finish line. This guy however... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiH2uLGSBOw&fmt=18"Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

How does the canting work on those things? I'm assuming it must be driven by some control system, based on speed, rate of turn etc...Pannier, 120rpm.0

Really just a fancy parallelogram setup:

You do now. At least unless you passed your test before a certain date, I believe. Might be as late as Jan 2013 though.0 -
