Because you go to buy a motorbike, the salesman recognises you're a bit of a weapon and thinks 'here's a laugh, i'll sell him a scooter' during that process he realises your a weapon so large he can get anything past you, so he thinks 'I know i'll sell him one of these 3 wheel jobs, what c*nt is dumb enough to buy that!'

They're a lot more stable especially in the wet apparently i.e. harder to come off. Thats basically it.
If you dont care what they look like and just want to commute i.e. like 99% of motorbikers on the roads then they could be an option.
Bloody expensive though and not my cup of tea but each to their own.0 -

No they're not. I don't know what the figure is but if the track is narrower than a certain limit, which these are, it's a bike in the eyes of the law. Ridiculous trikes that are as wide as a car are classified as a car, as are Reliant Robins.I'd be tempted to get one - as they are classed as a car and not a motorbike you don't have to wear a helmet

I'm a motorcyclist but I have ridden the original Piaggio MP3 and the front end grip is incredible. Reading reviews you'll see that it is virtually impossible to low-side it in any conditions. They are not my cup of tea visually but if I was going to recommend a scooter to a daily city commuter it would be a three wheeler - unless of course you commute in congestion charge zones because I don't think some of the wider 3 wheelers are exempt.One simple question: Why? Indeed. The less impressive looking ones. High side being when the bike decides it's had enough of you and pitches you off. Low side it's had enough and slides out.

Apart from the lock to keep them vertical at lights etc it is all 'passively' mechanical - so works same as a two wheeler - it tips in as much as you tell it to via your steering input.How does the canting work on those things?
