Horner denied TUE

Now I don't like Horner but when Froome gets a TUE for his asthma and Horner is denied something similar, it's probably fair to say having Cookson's son working for you is paying dividends. With him on this one. UCI showing us once again they are not working for all teams and are following the money.

And I am not up with all the doping chatter but I understand that Froome had his tue fasttracked and granted by some doping dr.

To be fair FF, Horner is a disgrace to the sport, so excuse me if I shed no tears over this.0

Someone will no doubt correct me if I am wrong but wasn't CF's TUE for a steroid treatment for a chest infection at the Tour of Romandie not his asthma ??
I think that a standard asthma inhaler does not require a TUE as the doses of salbutamol are not deemed to be performance enhancing ???0 -

Correct on both accounts.0 -

What did Petacchi get done for then?
Too many puffs. Normal use ok. Not performance enhancing anyway, unless you count not dying as performance enhancement. When I lived in London, my asthmatic neighbour ended up in hospital every time there was a thunderstorm.0 -
Bit of a non-story for me this. For the reasons given by apriliariderNapoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0

Most interesting thing about this story is that the 3 man TUE panel is now in place.
That has to be a good thing.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

Yeah. behind the scenes WADA weren't best pleased with the UCI when that came out that a panel ie more than Dr Z wasn't the mandatory process with no exceptions for TUE approvals. Cookson had to respond quickly and ensure that was no longer the case pretty soon after the Froome TUE furore0 -

Regardless of whether it was for roids or some asthma meds, fact is Froome had his fast-tracked as aforementioned and had a doping dr do it for him and Horner had to suffer.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Not quite - WT teams have doctors present and any WT rider would have been able to have it 'fast-tracked'. Horner himself says that. I'm not quite sure why Froome is singled out here.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -

I've been so busy with work recently (just finished my 17 festival of the summer with 4 more to go) so I've not been on here, but the forum has officially reached the bottom level. This has nothing to do with Froome, yet FF always makes it with Froome.

Who's this "Doping doctor"?
Isn't Sky's main doctor an Irish former GP who'd never worked in sports before he took the gig?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Who's he been doping then? CIRC gave him a reasonably clean bill of health in their report. Of course, you're not up with all the doping chatter, but...0

I couldn't help but notice this in the same article though“[CIRC] has been unable to confirm any allegation regarding [Zorzoli’s] supposed advice about taking a prohibited substance,” the report states, in reference to the DHEA allegation."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

But you just said Zorzoli gave him the TUE. Or is Cookson looking them all over now as well? Is Ollie Cookson threatening to tell his dad on anyone who stands in Froome's way? Couldn't he name his price to work for any cycling team in the world if this was the case?
Do you have a shred of evidence that Zorzoli is a "doping doctor" apart from allegations that have been investigated and held up as baseless by an independent body or that Cookson's son exerts undue influence over the UCI? If not, you're just libelling people."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

No it would be I don't care to debate the subject especially when you clearly feel angry about it for no apparent reason.
Maybe destress by making one of these:

I'm not sure where you're inferring the anger from, I assure you I am quite calm. I just see your position as fairly baseless.
And as to making that, I'm far too cackhanded. I can barely sharpen a pencil in the normal fashion."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

And I am not up with all the doping chatter, either, but I recall Cooksonson doing a great transparency job with Henao's seemingly alarming post-altitude blood tests. I'm sure all will be published in due course and there need be no suggestions that the investigation was a manhoover to avoid a Dear Sergio letter....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster.
