Is undertaking becoming the norm in the UK... ? got the evil eye and flashing headlights off someone when I came back into the near side lane of a motorway (driving) as you should and I did indicate ... when they obviously wanted to cut up on the inside...just because ... but why...?
I blame Johnny Foreigner underhandidness basically...[/quote]
I've noticed this also when using the motorways. More like Johnny Foreigner can't be bothered to learn the UK highway code, although I have seen plenty of UK nationals doing this as well, laziness in my opinion, can't be arsed to operate the indicator switch and turn the steering wheel.
Having said that, this seems to be exacerbated by those drivers who insist on sitting in the middle lane when there is nothing ahead of them in the nearside lane and they should move over. I have a friend who does this and it's embarrassing travelling with him.
When I asked him why he doesn't use the motorway correctly, he got all defensive and said it's what his father in law told him to do because, "he does not have to keep changing lanes to overtake other vehicles and avoids those ruts that the heavy lorries make in the inside lane". I told him to read an up to date copy of the highway code and put it into practice.0 -
