You are very lucky if you consider that to be newsworthy.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Honestly?! You have nothing better to do with your time than upload what you perceive to be bad turns etc??

Is it the non event of the day competition? In which case, i was nearly hit off my bike by a deer this morning. Well i could have been if i'd ridden to work today instead of driven.

When I cycled to Oxford Circus, London and back from Richmond every day (long before there were any cycle lanes) that incident would register as a 5/10 at best.

Suffice to say that each day, there were at least 5 of those, a brace of 6/10's, some 7/10's an 8/10, a 9/10 and usually a 10/10, 10/10 being where you have to fend the vehicle off with your foot at speed.......

    Only the 10?
I wasted 30 seconds as I watched it 3 times thinking that I must be missing something.

The chap filming this from his bicycle, what is the point he is trying to make?

The motorist (who pays Road Tax, by the way) appears to be using the junction to turn his car round. This, in part, is why The Good Lord put junctions on highways in the first place. They offer plenty of space for motorists to change direction.

The cyclist appears to have limited anticipation, a weak bowel and not much of a sense of humour. All these traits may be interpreted as failings when one is planning to cycle through suburbia.

It is also likely that he pays no VED, which does rather render his voice and views irrelevant.

This post may elicit some dissent, but I can assure you both that I am right and that anyone whose view differs from mine is wrong. Twice.

    I have spoken. Thread ends.

Have you not been cycling very long - or only just got a GoPro or something ? Maybe you lead a charmed life - lets hope this is the worst you see !

    Happy riding.

You have to be new to cycling. I suggest you take several spare pairs of underpants on your rides. If this worries you you are going to need them.

At least it was only 10 seconds, most on bike videos seem to have a good 5 minutes of someone cycling calmly down the road before eventually a car overtakes about 4 feet away resulting in a shout of, "Oi, that was too close!"

What I don't understand is why the OP didn't chase the driver down, confront him and threaten to report him to the Police? Now that would have made an interesting video!

That constitutes a reasonable manoeuvre in my book.

Driver didn't cause the cyclist to have to slow (much). If every car turned near me like that I'd be well happy. Instead it's more likely that I get chopped up without indicators, wing mirrors brushing my elbow.

I even got moaned at last night for undertaking someone stationary in traffic. I was in a cycle lane FFS.

That car driver quite clearly had not seen the bike. Are we sugesting a car has to hit or be very close before it becomes an incident?

The cyclist has right of way.The car is supposed to give way to on coming traffic.

Being close would be a minor incident.
    This was a non-incident.
I wouldn't cycle on the road at all if that kind of thing scared me.

  • The perils of the GoPro squad!! I thought the driver did okay..and really..how fast was the cyclist going? NO deviation/appears to be no slow down…I bet he rode STRAIGHT to his nearest police station! Hopefully it was, like most nowadays…closed and therefore a poor overworked cop avoided wasting time watching this non event!

Is undertaking becoming the norm in the UK... ? got the evil eye and flashing headlights off someone when I came back into the near side lane of a motorway (driving) as you should and I did indicate ... when they obviously wanted to cut up on the inside...just because ... but why...?
I blame Johnny Foreigner underhandidness basically...
