anyone any experience of occipital nerve damage caused through cycling. I've had this diagnosed (to be confirmed by a neurologist at some point in the near future). Symptoms being a screaming headache a few hours after cycling.
I've been prescribed medication for it (Gabapentin) but wondered if anyone had any other alternative treatments or remedies.
thanks

based on personal experience with a different type of excruciating headache that took over a decade of umpteen doctors, consultants, scans etc. before one who got it right, i'd wait for the confirmationmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0

Ouch! that's a hell of a long term headache! What was the issue if you don't mind me asking, was it something similar?0 -
this one... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_headache ...seems to be more awareness these days, but i went through several doctors, consultants, hospitals, scans and umpteen drugs, with no one figuring it out and nothing helping, not even morphine
this was pre-interweb, i ended up browsing the dillons university book store's medical section, buying a really expensive one called 'the headaches', worked out which was the best match, then arranged to see the guy who wrote the ch section, he was in harley street and by bizarre coincidence had his consulting room upstairs from my dentist, nice chap, pretty much instant relief after he confirmed and prescribed a drug that would stop an attackmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0
