Bardet's contracted to AG2R till 2017. And Alaphilippe signed a shiny new contract with EQS a few weeks ago IIRC0 -
Did I dream Chris Juul-Jensen to Sky?0

Cant see a rider of Alaphilippe's class going to Sky. They generally require guys who cant think for themselevs.
If Kwiatek goes there then its purely to line his pockets.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Unlike the rest of us who aren't doing anything to line our pockets... though I agree, I view Kwaitek going to Sky with some regret.
I'm trying to catch up with the various podcasts and was interesting to hear about how Cummings really didn't fit into the Sky set up, amongst other things he's another rider that likes hanging around the back of the peloton (like my men Purito and Il Gerva) and then going when he spots the opportunity. Totally at the opposite of Sky's ride at the front and control the race approach.0 -
FdJ have had the same sponsor since 1997. Likewise Cofidis. Ag2R since 2000 (they were co-sponsor 97-99). Lampre have been main sponsor since 1992.
Granted those sponsors didn't put pen to paper on a ten year+ contract at the outset, but there is clearly a close relationship between the team and sponsor which will allow the team to plan for the future - even if only on a provisional basis.
Tinkoff would be better minded to not blow 12M Euro on a rider who hasn't yet won a monument. Not o mention that he appears to be bankrolling his team, so if he wants to plan ahead and can go ahead and do that.
I'm quite tired of his homophobia, bile and godshitery and would happily see the back of him and his hypocrisy and ethically dubious approach to 'professionalism'.

MTNQ really seems to suit him - got a lot of time for Cummings, pleased to see him happy there. And...its paying off big-time.0 -

I thought SKY would have had a punt on Pierre-Roger Latour - but glad he's safely with Vincent Lavenu for a few more years0

I'm actually surprised Tao joined this year. Wasn't he getting ready for the Tour of Utah, which is probably a bigger race than anything he'll do at Sky? And I wonder if they'll be at l'Avenir. So many questions.0

pffft, not if they have him ride the MIGHTY Eneco
Bet they include him in the ToB squad. I know he'd have been on the GB national squad again for it, but...0 -
Oh yes Tao and Peters. Brothers in arms. Chuffed for those little Hackney lads who have come so far. Tao in particular has immense talent, a brave heart and a racers attitude. My soft spot for them remains.
Really pleased at them signing for Sky. Hopefully they can line their pockets and gain some good experience. Then when they are bored of riding in the front before the tv cameras come on, fetching bottles and not coming to any important races then they can move to a proper team and pour out their bottled up racing instinct over the macadam of Europe and give the fans something to cheer about.
Well done lads.Contador is the Greatest0 -

As Tao is only stagiairing, its entirely possible that you can whoop whoop him riding for a 'proper team' as soon as next year
That's better, eh0 -
Peters won't be doing l'Avenir this year. Bizarrely (bizarre cos of the bizarre new rule), Seb Henao will be.0

Shit. It's national teams, isn't it. Was having a senior moment and wondered why WT would be a problem. Probably confusing it with the Tour Med yet again.
