I'm loathe to share Kudus or Tekkers with you lot, they're bone fide MY MEN, you can't just rock up and grab a piece of them.
But without suggesting any names, I'd like to propose the following selection criteria, which aim at finding a true cult hero:
1) Not British (they'll get enough attention aleady)
2) Doesn't ride for a wildcard team (our rider shouldn't need to borrow underdog romance from his team)
3) Not a genuine lanterne rouge contender (again, they'll get enough attention as it is)
4) Destined to spend the entire race (minus the closing 10km of each stage) 7 minutes ahead of the peloton
5) Not renowned for any cycling feat (No Adam Hansen)

Good choice in Vaugrenard. It's not the first time he has attracted this sort of attention; he was featured in the revised version of "Rough Ride," where Paul K followed him around France in the 2006 TdF. Clearly he's a man of considerable patience.
