After holding for about 25 minutes to Garmin Customer Support, I've been promised an email with a link from where you can, apparently, order these elastic bands for the cadence sensor. They cost something like £4.39 for a set of three.
Once the email arrives I'll post the link on here. I've been told it's a link to a Garmin site and not a third-party site.0 -
Here you go everyone, the official Garmin Cadence Sensor Replacement Bands ordering site. They cost £4.49 for a set of three (that's the three different sizes).
https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/prod520288.html
NOTE 1: You will need a login to the Garmin site to complete the purchase
NOTE 2: I cannot open that link in Firefox on my Mac - I will troubleshoot it later. It works fine in Safari, so you may need to try another browser other than Firefox.
I hope that helps some of you out!0 -

seems a lot of money for a rubber band. give me your address, I will send you a handful for free0 -
There's some postage to be added as well. The grand total comes to 6.98GBP. Yes, it's expensive but a few people were looking for proper Garmin ones and these are directly from Garmin.0

I appreciate that they are garmins own but you can just use another rubber band that will do the job without spending another 7 quid for a replacement. If you have the stem mount for a garmin, the ones that stretch under the stem in a cross over will suffice. I have had one on my bike for months with no issue.0 -
A data point for anyone who wants to order the cadence sensor straps directly from Garmin. The total cost including postage was £6.98 and they were delivered in two working days (ordered 29 October 2015, delivered 02 November 2015 so there was a weekend in between).
They actually come in a nice box which may have cost more to manufacture than the straps themselves!0 -

could try selling the other two sizes on ebay to recoup some of the cost.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
Did anyone find replacement bands? I've only just installed mine but would like to have a spare band if they are available.
Otherwise I guess I'd just a suitable size O-Ring but that wouldn't have the "middle" part of the band.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

You can get them on ebay but an standard O shaped rubber band from a garmin mount will work equally well. I snapped the one I used on my cadence sensor and replaced it with one of the rubber bands that fit around the stem on the garmin mount. You don't need the fig 8 shaped for it to be secure. You actually get 3 in a box so maybe one of the other 2 will fit without it being too loose.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply. Good to know that worked well for you.
After I posted I thought I'd have a Google around and actually found them on the Garmin site (I should have done that before posting).

Hence why I just used the garmin stem band - Think about it. £5 for a bit of rubber that you don't even need! The bit in the middle does absolutely nothing extra to keep the sensor in place. Its a gimmick to part people from £5 when they accidently snap one.0 -

The 'O' rings (rubber bands that come with a Garmin handlebar mount) work. I noticed that one side of the original fixing on the cadence sensor was going and used the rubber band for added security. Can't see any reason why two wouldn't do the whole job.Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra
