Fair enough. On first viewing, I didn't think Wellens was that far out in terms of his "calculation".0

That has got to be the most boring finish to a bike race that I've ever seen.0

Seconded.Twitter: @RichN950 -
Fell asleep watching this last night, with only 5.7km to go. I think that objectively defines this as the year's most boing race. LBL is usually the best of the Ardennes so fingers crossed for that.0

Apparently was a premiditated move for Vanendert to counter from but Wellens tried his luck anyway after Vanandert crashed.

One day, Cycling Weekly will tell you about the rider who will be the first ever Brit winner of it.
Nicole Cooke 2003, 2005, 2006 plus some 2nd's.
If you get to watch it, I think you will find the women's race was more entertaining.0 -

In regard to those MdH times, it's worth noting that last year Pauline Ferrand-Prevot and Lizzie Armitstead did it in 3.16 - similar to many of the peak EPO years. Which shows the folly of comparing times while ignoring the main factor - the race situation itself.Twitter: @RichN950

I assume those times are to the actual finish line? If so then they are going to be really skewed by how tight the finish was. I mean when J Rod won in 2012 he just cruised in the last 50m because he was already celebrating.0

That and the kit is probably a good 3 kilos lighter than it used to be, let alone stiffer etc.0 -

Lets not let Common Sense get in the way of a good Clinic story. It's not so much about winning, I just hate losing.0 -
