Hey everyone,
I'm currently looking to change from the SIS energy drinks powder to one without sweeteners, and wondered what ones you have experience of. Unfortunately, I can't tolerate Torq, so wondered if the PowerBar tubs etc are ok etc.
Any input would be much-appreciated!

Is there a particular sweetener you want to avoid or are you looking for a "savory" energy drink?
At the end of the day - you are looking for Glucose as the best source of fast energy. Anything else wont get in to you blood as quick.0 -
Hi mate,
I meant to say that I'm avoiding artificial sweeteners, such as those that SIS use. Torq are great in terms of the ingredients being natural, but I'm unable to tolerate them, so am just looking for another product like Torq's energy powder really!diy wrote:Is there a particular sweetener you want to avoid or are you looking for a "savory" energy drink?

Might not be what your after but BulkPowders.co.uk have some fast release carb supplements at very reasonable prices. Some flavoured and some not.
I use the Dextrose (glucose) and Maltodextrin 50:50 mix before and during my rides.

They do a slow release oats supplement too. its basically just plain porridge but cheap.

Yep the above mixed with squash or fruit juice. Avoid the zero cal hydration/electrolyte stuff.0

I get Maltodextrin in big bags from MyProtein, with a splash of cordial or fruit juice. To be honest haven't tried it mixed with dextrose or anything but seems to do the job.0
