Viviani was on the outside of that crash and got pummeled hard by riders falling after him. Looks like he could have done his collarbone.

Crash looked like it was caused by some utterly crazy riding by Guardini.

AG2R rider being put in the ambulance.

Looks like it was caused by Guardini trying to go through a too small a gap.

Viviani looks like he has a collarbone or shoulder injury. Other rider looking in bad way is an Ag2R rider who has been stretchered off with a neck brace

Theuns went through a no existent gap, too.
    Risk and reward.
Bottom line, Viviani has been struggling with his sprint demons since Cav did for him.
Today, he was tentative trying to follow Kristoff's wheel and got swamped.
As a result, just behind the crash instead of in front.

The Scheldeprijs: 200kms of nothing, then a big crash. Pretty much most years.

Yes, probably diluted fruit juice or some sort of energy drink.

Always nice to read an educated opinion.
  • I'm sorry, but after burning his matches far too early on Sunday, what is Sep doing riding this race?

    Tell me about it!

I think it was meant to be a recovery ride for him...shouldn't have been trying to win, just leading out the Jumbo sprinters.

Got to love how racing never gets news coverage unless there is a major pile-up, death, or drugs.

oh and Sir Bradley actually wins something.
