I would love to give my Carbon Jamis a bit of help as I am disabled and get tired quick.

I had a search around and can't find any decent kits out there that wouldn't ruin the bike :-(

The Copenhagen wheel does look perfect though

The best for that bike is a mid mounted motor that powers the crankset directly, much less conspicuous.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Been snooping over in the pro race thread eh!? :P
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

Group ride on Saturday cruising at 30+kmh through a Dutch village then I did a double-take as there was a Dutch lady on a Granny Bike in the group with us pedalling at about 50rpm - an eBike of course but it's just wrong

  • I think eBikes could be just what we need to get a NL-style utility cycling culture in the UK.

I live in a town in the South Downs - bloody hilly with just the sort of cycle usage one might expect: lots of people pedalling to and from the station, a few (older) kids going to and from school, and that's about it. Loads of cars used by people just pottering around town - I confess we will almost always drive to the town centre and we could probably walk it in 30 mins. We drive partly because it's quite a long way uphill and mainly because there are so many cars on the road that it isn't very friendly for young children to cycle - a bit self-fulfilling, really.

eBikes will get rid of the hill problem and then it is just time until there is a critical mass of eBikers. Can't wait.
Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.
