Would like to hear the opinion of the forum

If this is true, what´s the point of doing long intervals?

Couple of things not clear in that -

'the total workload performed was the same in both groups' - does that mean where one did 5 x 4 minutes (which actually seems a bit light - 4 x 10min or 6 x 5min would seem more standard?) i.e. 20 minutes work, the '30 second group' did 40 intervals?

Doesn't say what else they were doing for the 10 weeks.

If 1 group just did 4x5min every time for 10 wks you might expect a plateau to happen.

I thought HIIT sessions had to be full-on as well but the article seems to be saying:

"Start with four to six bursts of 30 seconds going very hard (but not flat-out)"

Is is just when you begin doing intervals and then move to flat-out when a bit fitter or all the time? Very confusing article in many ways.
