Strava Bluetooth Question

Wondering if anyone can help...

I currently use Strava with the Bluetooth HR Strap. I want the Bluetooth Speed sensor too so it will log my speed and then instead of using a Cateye cycle computer I would use the RFLKT system.

However I am unsure if my iPhone 6 can handle 2 Bluetooth connects simultaneously - I have googled it and the results are mixed. Just wondering if anyone has a setup like this working?

I have read further about the ALT+ system and this seems to link multiple devices, but the ALT+ requires the RFLKT+, and ALT+ Bluetooth HR Strap and Speed Sensor which are all more expensive.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

I have a power meter, heart rate and speed sensor all connected to my iPhone so you will be fine.

Is that through standard Bluetooth or this ALT+ system (that I don't quite fully understand)

The devices you need to buy to connect to an iPhone will be Bluetooth LTE and then you can connect multiple sensors are the same time. The more you connect the more the battery will drain.

    Thanks very much

This is what I am looking at, it says Bluetooth LE - is this ok?

I don't think there is any limit on what you can connect via Bluetooth. I use my iPhone with a pebble watch. HR strap, speed/cadence sensor and BT earphones on the turbo, all works fine.

Strava will only take distance info from GPS though, so you'd be better off using a different app for logging then transferring to strava. I use iSmooth run which syncs automatically with training peaks, garmin connect, strava and others, plus lets you have custom BT displays like the rflkt and pebble. It's very good.

  • As far as i've been told Bluetooth can connect to up to 7 devices at any one time. So you'll be fine
