Training videos

i've been beasting it indoors during the winter on my trainer when the weather has been bad or after work when its dark and have found that looking up videos has helped the time pass and helped with motivation.
Generally I will watch past videos of races such as paris roubaix, Tour de France or anything where there is a good climb and a good bit of grimacing!

I was wondering what videos others may watch for motivation or help the time pass?

  • I stick with watching spring classics (Paris Roubaix, Strade Bianche etc) but i recently watched some stages from the tour of Norway which really worked. I can't ever seem to re-watch TDF/Giro stages and get the same results. I also watch cycling documentaries which can be good
  • Graeme Street's Cyclo-core indoor ride videos plus Sufferfest.

I guess what you watch depends on what your goals are. If you want to improve your fitness then I highly recommend the Cyclo-Core videos. If you just want to pass the time with some enterntainment plus have a reasonable workout then the Sufferfest videos are great. With either I also suggest using in conjucntion with Trainnerroad. This gives you virtual power and the videos have matching power profiles i.e. you get the power you should be doing. You also need an Ant+ USB stick to link your speed, cadence and Heartrate sensors to your computer for it all to work.

  • Hello I've just edited video for indoor cycling training (54 min ) containing a lot of great landscapes where I cycled between 2010 and 2014 in the Alps, Pyrénées, Andalucia..... wonderful mountains, coastad road, valleys, etc.
Few climbs that appear in the video: Mont Ventoux, Passo di Gavia, Bonette, Galibier, there are ascents that hadn't been filmed was rarely filmed ( Dürrboden), Col de la Core, Peyresourde, Ordesa National park in the Pyrénées, Pico Veleta (3394 m) in Andalucia. Few minutes about famous cycling challenges can be seen too: Monte Grappa challenge (261 km + 7241 m), Ötztaler radmarathon (228 km + 5500 m), Valtellina Extreme brevet (345 km + 8998 m). Have pleasure with the video & thanks for watching !
