The Hour record, age category

Was having a look at what would be a long term realistic achievement... the Hour record seems a good enough challenge to tackle... however, even the 60-69 category is way too competitive, with folks closing in at 48 Km...
70+ is 41 Km, which is interesting, but hard
75+ is 35.7 Km, which is more interesting
80+ is 28 point something Km, which is very interesting, especially considering a guy did 26.5 at 102 years old...
Anyone thinking of having a go in due course?

Thanks Alex!
As you can see currently the 80+ record stands at 28 Km, which is well below the line, so one for the grab!left the forum March 20230 -

Wonder if this thread will still be open in 37 years time and where will the record be in 37 years time. Would it be too risky to spend the next 37 years aiming for a record like this, a 37 year training plan. Shall I put a little bet on myself at the bookies now0 -
I'm tempted to have a go at our club record. Mainly because there isn't one at the moment!0
