    Kristoff wins the sprint, again.

    Also fairly ominous.

Guy's got to be stand out favourite for MSR.
1 Alexander Kristoff (Nor) Katusha 3:56:42
2 Andrea Guardini (Ita) Astana Pro Team
3 Matteo Pelucchi (Ita) IAM Cycling
4 Danny Van Poppel (Ned) Trek Factory Racing
    5 Nacer Bouhanni (Fra) Cofidis

    Cancellara?

    Pfft.

    Ominous.
My ideal Paris Roubaix - Cancellara and Wiggins ride away from the rest in a two up TT with many km to go and we then see Wiggins trying to work out how to drop Cancellara before a sprint finish and trying to execute. That would be amazing.

  • Formally of Footon and VS. Won nothing but did well in 2010 Tour de San Luis.

Guess we will have to rely on Contador and Froome to show the GT boys participating here how real champions race.

    Good effort TJ. Congratulations Valls.

What happened to Purito? That profile looked like one for him (in 2013).

I see the number crunchers of twitter are making conclusions by comparing times from a race they haven't seen to races they can't remember.

Farcical scenes as they try to run a cycle race through uninhabitable regions of the planet. (Taking shelter from the heat. Under a bridge. On a dual carriageway.)

    Stage now cancelled.

On hearing the news, Quintana has launched a solo attack. :P

Was it any hotter than California last year / 2013 whenever it was?

I'm not up to speed to what happened, but I was under the impression that the problem was high winds and sandstorms rather than just heat.

Looks pretty nasty to be fair!
  • Brandle wins the last stage from a break including Danny Pate, Meirhagher from Top Sport and my man Iljooooooooo.

Sagan won the sprint for 5th.

Merckx complaining that the riders refusal to ride yesterday could spell the end of the Gulf races. Then where would be? :P It would be nice if some good came from one of Cancellara's occasional shop steward moments.
"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

  • Although I thought I spotted Kreuziger in photos I just assumed it was some other rider as didn't realise he is able to compete. In fact he is and is doing pretty well all things considered.
