I see Jihadi John is now on the run from his former employers. Aparently they have no use for him anymore. No doubt he will end up crossing the Med in a boat. Set foot in Italy and make his way back to the UK where he will be arrested and imprisoned, receiving all the nice creature comforts that he is entitled to under the human rights act. Unless the SAS or Delta can double tap him first. Fingers crossed.

  • back assad asap.

its the only way and then boots on the ground.

had assad been backed and the supposed moderate rebels not supported by the west we wouldnt be in this mess. assad could have nipped it in the bud.

however now we are fooked unless we come down exteremly hard, which we wont.

when will the west stop trying to impose democracy on nations that simply over and over again show that it doesnt work in them?

syria was a reasonably developed stable nation, indeed open to western tourism with a decent quality of life under assad. now its ruined. sure he kept order in brutal ways and certain minorities may have been persecuted, but it was fairly secular and stable and not a threat to the west. now the majority of people there are being perseuted and having lives destroyed and the replacement of assad state is a danger to us.

people need to accept that in some places, be it due to religion or whatever, order control and stability can only be maintained by a 'strong man' leader who may not be a nice bloke and do unspeakable things to certain sections of his society, but will at least keep the vast majority safe, stable and in order with a reasonable quality of life. trying to impose western ideals on these places just fucks them up for everyone, the inhabitants and the west as they become a threat to us...gaddafi, saddam, assad, the whole arab spring. all these places have gone to sh it now and th world is a far more dangerous place both for us and the people in these countries as a result of these strong men being deposed.

+1 - But think that some of the forumites on here may think otherwise.

i started this thread as i believe we should have backed Assad from the start.
however, its the right wing in america that is the root cause of this mess, backed by the equally right winger Blair.

Had we listened to those lefty liberal types you obviously hate with a passion, we d not be where we are now.

Surprised he hasn't 'volunteered' for martyrdom. It could be that he will have a chat with various intelligence people in return for immunity and his uk citizenship not revoked

Yet to be proved, and in honesty it seems unlikely, but ISIS taking 'credit' for the crashed Russian plane is bizarre. Any shred of evidence and I think they will reap Putin's whirlwind.

I dont think IS would be claiming respnsibility if they didnt have a hand in it, no doubt not that difficult to get a small bomb on board, how secure is Egyptian airport checks?
Several airlines have rerouted around sinia peninsula.
why would IS fear Putin? they ve shown they dont fear anyone.

anyway, i think we should have a referendum on Blair being set to the Hague for war crimes, almost all of this current mess can find its roots in illegal wars and its looking like he knew very well what he was doing, along with the rest of his cabinet.

Plane blows up in mid air, no mayday..... bomb or missile, given where it happened, the nightmare scenario will be if it turns out to be a US ground to air system, supplied to anti assad, that has fallen into IS hands.
plus one on Blair going to Hague.
