Right then chaps.

I've done a few 20 minute tests. this is my latest. Trainer road 20 minute test.

I have a few questions I hope somebody can answer:

I use Golden Cheetah and that seems to put my CP at 334. Is this the same as FTP? or is CP just theoretical max 60mins.
I also use http://mtbcoach.com/index.php/training- ... alculator/ which puts my FTP at;
LTHR: 179
FTP: 331
Trainer road puts my FTP at 329.
LTHR: 170

I know these are only small changes but in my opinion its worth getting right. especially as zones will be off.

Im 72kg so around 4.6wkg

    British cycling also says FTP: 331 Think I'll settle for that.

    What about LTHR? big jump from 170 to 179...

    What difference do you think +/- a few Watts in FTP will make to your training? Day to day errors in your PM will be of the order a few Watts. I'd recommend rounding your FTP to the nearest 5W (so 330 or 335 or 340) if you're using a proper PM. If you're using inferred power from a turbo, think more to the nearest 20W or 30W.

    As important as the test is verifying that it makes sense. So if you can't do 2x20 at FTP or you find 2x20 at FTP easy then there's probably something up with the data from the test.

    CP and FTP aren't the same thing either. If you Google 'critical power skiba' you should find plenty to read.
    More problems but still living....
  • ftp being slightly out won't make a difference, your zones will only be a few watts different and the effect of you for e.g. being in zone 2 at 230 watts or being zone 3 at 232 won't change the effect because your in a zone higher

    Just out of interest what turbo are you using and how does the test on the turbo compare to efforts on the road.

    Thanks
