Colnago C60 - Team Europcar

I had been considering picking up a C60 since the launch last spring but none of the currently available paint schemes grabbed me enough to take the plunge. I did, however, really like the look of the frame which Thomas Voeckler used on the TDF last year, having managed to see it in the flesh whilst stood on the side of the road on the Buttertubs climb.
I spoke to the UK distributor after the Tour and they were as keen as I was to find out if the factory would release this colour scheme. Long story short, the UK received the remaining 2014 Team Europcar C60 frames (paint code: VS) in October and I managed to pick up one of the two which arrived in my size (from a total 11 in all sizes I believe). Windwave and Sigma Sport were brilliant throughout the process.
I picked the frame up in mid October and have just about finished the build - roll on the spring now!!
Frame: Colnago C60 52s (paint code VS)
Groupset: 2015 Campagnolo Super Record mechanical (172.5mm 50/34 cranks; 12/27 cassette)
Wheels: Lightweight Standard Gen3
Bars: Deda Presa 42cm
Stem: Deda Zero 100 120mm
Saddle: Fizik Antares R3
Pedals: Look Keo Blade 2
Bottle cages: Arundel Mandible
Weight: 14.6lbs / 6.6kg
Apologies for the rubbish photos - I will update the post with some outdoor shots and a ride report once I can
Cheers
Rich

Drop Dead Gorgeous. Got to be Mechanical Campag Sr all the way on that frame. Great Build>
Not a fan of White Bar tape though, Wonder what it would look like with some Italian Tricolore bar tape? Probably not as nice actually ( too much) ,
I m very jealous, This and a master is where my lottery win would go ( keep dreaming )0 -
really nice!!All lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0

Thanks for all of the positive responsesRick Chasey wrote:Yes.
How much £££?
Rick - I will give you the same response as I gave my wife....the frame cost the same as a standard C60, despite the fact that's its rare / sought after / likely to appreciate* The groupset cost less than I could find a 2014 groupset for The wheels are nearly five years old so no cost there
*that bit definitely was stretching the truth somewhat
The white bar tape is a source of endless debate. I've kept it the same as Mr Voecklers bike for now but I will try it with black tape at some point. I nearly went with a white saddle and tape.....
I do not own any pro team kit but I could not resist picking these up at half price
Cheers

looks fantastic0

Wow, stunning!0

Ignore the nitwits bitchin' about the white tape ... You don't go to that effort to get a bike that looks this good just to mess it up by worrying about having to replace the bar tape a couple of times a year.Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it.0

I had some tricolour tape on my (red) Bianchi for while - it is too much and it looks a bit crack on the curves of the bars because you can't get the stripes consistent widths.

Are you sure your cable inners are long enough?0

Well spotted - there is no way my OCD would allow this!
I haven't actually set up the gears / brakes completely yet - a mate wanted to see a photo, hence the quick indoor shot. Proper outdoor photos (with trim cables) to follow in due course

Ha Ha - hello John! How are you getting on with the C59?
I reckon this one is a keeper....

How does the C60 compare to the C59?
Are there issues on the bottom bracket?
If there no issues with the bottom bracket - would you say this standard is better than screw in method previously employed and press fit systems?
Great looking bike BTW.0 -

I should think so, it's a cracking looking frame!
The C59 is fantastic. Had a great 2014 on it. Its just the perfect bike really. Does everything and can ride it all day.
I couldn't bring myself to race it though, only the training nights and the weekends I wasn't racing. Probably will this year though.0
