Could it be that you are more nervous with your shiny new, and expensive Bianchi, than you were with your older and cheaper Trek. I know I would be a bit more nervous with a few grands worth of new carbon under me and would be a bit fearful of damaging it, especially as the weather conditions aren't great at the moment.
  • I too am an mtb'er come roadie, i used to do a lot of dh and 4x and still do a good amount of trail riding and have found some of the skills of bike control have saved my bacon a few times now. but yesterday I went out for a little xmas day spin as the roads were quiet (and damp in places) and had my 1st proper off. probably just a case of going too quick for the conditions, just a 6/10 right hand bend and the back slid right out, nothing i could do. i have decent tyres on it (bianchi also btw) but i think you just have to realise the limits of even decent tyres when its damp and greasy. if it was properly raining it might of been fine, but damp and greasy conditions, you just have to be cautious and slow down, how much difference is a few mph on a few corners going to make to your overall time on a ride anyway?
