There's some attitude on this thread, I'm being polite with that remark.

Good for you. If that's the case, then post up the deal for others, instead of just demonstrating that you always have to have the last word.

Will do when on PC so I can copy and paste links.

  • This is, I believe, the same wording as Ford use to describe the Fiesta. A budget car. Much like 105 being a budget groupset. But the Fiesta is better.

    .

Yes and the Fiesta S is the next level up, basically the same car with different looks and a liitle S badge. Much like Ultegra.

But lighter and works better and more HP and better resale value and goes better and feels nicer and has more kudos and has wides on it and a thump in' bass bin.

Anyhow, please don't get me wrong - Ultegra isn't the panacea to cycling's groupset related ills, it's just that it's better than 105. By a long chalk.

Where can I buy Ultegra at £70 more than 105 please?

I'm looking at new a new groupset for my training bike and would be very interested to see where Ultegra is only £70 more than 105.

Closest i have found to the price of a 105 groupset is this http://www.athleteshop.co.uk/shimano-ki ... tAoda1AAHg but that does not come with a chainset.
  • If you can post the links to the Ultegra groupset that would be appreciated. You see, I'm thinking of upgrading my 105 to 105 11 speed in the new year, but if the Ultegra can be sourced for a little more, I may choose that option.

If 105 is budget, does that make ultegra mid range?

"People forcing opinions on the internet" shock going on in this thread.
  • I bought my first road bike this summer, it came with claris and it's pretty good! Bit noisy but always changes!

Next bike on order and comes with 105 but I'll be slowly upgrading to Ultregra but from 105 is clearly their middle groupset and 5800 seems to be 90% of ultregra like someone else said...molested some Dura-ace kit in a shop and that shit has a clear difference!
