i’d be more than happy with a nukeproof mega with pikes, plenty of cheaper bikes out there that are just as good.

You seem to have misunderstood the money no object bit. The Nukeproof Mega isn't all that great, rides well but build quality is poor and the standard shock isn't great.
Is it?... Aside from the soft bolts you mention, I've encountered nothing to evidence this...

    I did mention I'd have a yeti sb6c.

Can't be all that bad quality as he's got two nukeproof bikes.

Paint quality is worse than any other bike I have owned the bushes in the bottom of the seat stay links were over tight and slightly over length.
Like I said, it's a brilliant ride but after a year on it I can see why it was cheap.
My older Scalp is probably the best finished and built bike I have owned.
  • Building mine up at the moment in the shape of a Nomad. The standard shock probably doesn't qualify but then I need to ride it first before making any decision - a dream bike should also ride well rather than hanging up on the wall I assume.

Only danger with dreams is if they become reality they can disappoint so hope this won't be the case.

Mine would have to be either a 2015 cannondale black inc trigger or a 2011 giant reign 0 as it was the bike that got me interested in mountain biking.
    2014 Giant Trance 27.5 1
    2013 Cannondale Jekyll 3

Those older Reigns were very underrated bikes, I like them. Quite like the idea of a new Reign.

I do too, however I've seen some reviews of the reign and trance sx back to back and they prefered the sx overall, these weren't reviews by pros though.
  • Probably a Stanton Slackline Ti with a 36, Enve's, XTR/XX1 drivetrain and SIXC cranks and a new Fat Chance Yo Eddy to go with my Fat Chance collection. Thats about the only MTB's I would like right now. I'd also like a Colnago C60 Italia but that should arrive this coming year all been well.

Well sorry to bump a old thread but I have one of the 3:

I think my choice has changed after a demo ride. I would now have a Transition Scout with Marzocchi 350ncr, Cane Creek DB inline, Enve rims on DT hubs and XTR 11 speed transmission. Obviously it would have a Reverb stealth and enve bars and stem.
The Scout is everything the Mega TR should have been.
I still want a Devinci Wilson carbon as a downhill bike, nothing else comes close. It makes the Santa Cruz V10 feel a bit old fashioned.

Funny you should mention the Scout, they look awesome. Im actually thinking of selling the solo and having one, if it was carbon I'd have one tomorrow no question. Its low long and a degree slacker than the solo. Ive taken my solo out to a 66 degree head angle and its sweet, just wants a bit more reach.

The scout does look pretty damn awesome tbh, would love to have a ride on one, wouldn't mind trying the smuggler either, not had a chance to ride one of the new breed of short travel super slack 29ers yet. As for my dream bikes, keep an eye on the your bikes section

I'd go for a polygon colossus n9 xtr. What an amazing looking bike.
GT I_DRIVE 5 XCR IN BLUE.

Ride everywhere, To/from work(12hrs work a day/5 days a week) and still the energy to hit the trails.
