Garmin heart monitor not working.

I have just changed the battery in my heart rate monitor and now it wont work. Its the premium model that you get with the garmin 800.

I have also changed the battery in my GCS 10 sensor, and it will only pick up cadence but no speed. I need the speed to work for my turbo trainer?

Can anyone help?

    The Garmin sensors can be a pita.
    I have gone thru 2 HRMs... heat and moisture got to them... the GSC .. well it just died... i gave up on it.
    I replaced the GSC with a Bontrager model -- not a bit of trouble.
    The hrm is now from China via Ebay for a 1/4 of the price.

    I think Garmin recommend leaving the battery out for 24 hours or was that 24 days.....?
