    Hi,

Lovely looking bike, what brake calipers are you running?

Thanks. They're TRP RG957. Quite expensive, but they do work well.

    Hi,

Thanks for coming back. I have a tK3 and have struggled to find decent long drop brakes. Have seen these but have been put off by the cost, but good to get some real feedback.

I'd say they are pretty much as good as the DA9000 brakes on my other bike and a lot better than the cheap Shimano long drop brakes I had on my old Kinesis TK2. In short, I'd say they're worth it, but I wish they were cheaper!

    Here's a photo in case you're interested:

They look the nuts. Must admit I was thinking of selling on the kinesis because the brakes were so poor. Had a pair of the R650s but since heard that although marketed as the ultegra equivalent they are not compatible with 6700 levers:(. Have some R451s on order which are supposed to be compatible but if no good may get myself a pair of these. Thanks for the info.

I've only made minor in the last few years and the bike has given very good service.

It's going to to Belgium for the Het Nieuwsblad sportive in a couple of weeks time, so off with the 'guards and on with some 30mm Schwalbe S-One tubeless tyres. I've previously used Vittoria Pave 27mm tyres, so it'll be interesting to see how these change the ride as they're a lot fatter...

That's lovely. Loving my Enigma (with Kinesis forks like yours). Ride it and enjoy. Winter's too long to ride a cr@p bike.
    Specialized Venge S Works
    Cannondale Synapse
    Enigma Etape
    Genesis Flyer Single Speed

Turn the corner, rub my eyes and hope the world will last...
  • How much space is left in the fork with those 30mm tyres?

The tyres measure just over 32mm on these rims and I have a few mm clearance each side.

    Thanks, my thinking too! :)

How about space on the rear stays? Pic would be brilliant!! Ta

No problem, here you go. It's hard to see in the photo, but there's a few mm clearance all round.

I was knocked off my bike by a car 3 weeks ago, I got away with fairly minor damage that will heal, unfortunately the Kinesis didn't :(

So, an unplanned new frame is needed. For the replacement I think I'll go disc, but what? A GFTi Disc, Mason Definition, Bowman Pilgrims, something else?
