May the snow of a thousand Siberian winters visit you
You lucky git, That's some winter bike, Fantastic frameset and great build . Enjoy whilst I'm on my plastic bike on the turbo. Or Perverts bike in the woods if I m lucky!!!!!!!!!0 -
Ha ha, thanks!
I was planning to get a Kinesis 4S, but got upsold to this and it has turned out rather nice. These aren't the wheels it'll end up with, I've got a pair of Hope hubs and Archetype rims in the garage I'm waiting to find the time to build. These are Archetype rims on Dura Ace hubs with CX-ray spokes nicked off my best bike.0 -
That's too good for a winter bike0

Thanks Ti yred, looking forward to trying it out ASAP, although it'll probably be the weekend now. Take it you're pleased with yours?0

Extremely pleased...it's a fantastic ride. You definitely won't regret buying it!0 -
Lovely - that has to be the coolest head tube on any bike at any price. Very tempted by one of these as a winter bike, although there is apparently a disc version of the frame coming in the spring next year so I may wait for that. Then again, would a Ti bike with hydro discs end up being a tad lardy I wonder?

Thanks, it's the coolest headtube I've seen. Kinesis already make Ti f+f with disc mounts plus it has plenty of clearance for wider tyres - it's called the Tripster Ti. A friend has one and it's definitely not portly, but it is a bit heavier than this.0 -
Here's the tripster:0

Wow- that's the bike I've been struggling to find for a while- a do everything disk Ti bike that can also race 'cross! That just jumped right to the top of my wishlist!
Esp given how pretty your Kinesis frame is above0 -
Lovely looking bike, I bought the t2 well it's on its way. To make it a PROPER winter bike get some mudguards fitted if you want to keep some friends0
-
Thanks, the T2 is a really good bike too, perfect as a winter trainer. I have full SKS guards, just haven't fitted them yet. A few people in my cycling club don't use guards in the winter, but most do and rear mudflap sure definitely encouraged.0

Top Job.

Beautiful!
But jeez I wish they'd update that logo/ typeface design on the downtube :?0 -
They have on the Tripster; I'd guess there's a different design team behind the Decade range.
I guess you mean the Racelight text and white band? I quite like it...0 -

It's by no means a deal breaker. I just think it's a bit drab on what are great frames.0 -
One persons drab, another's understated, but yes, definitely a nice frame.0

Here it is after riding 9 sections of pave from the Paris Roubaix route. With the mudguards off 32mm panaracer tyres off my tourer would have fitted, but I decided to stick with the original plan of 27mm open pave cg tyres.
It coped admirably, not a single issue, just like every ride I've done it it. Highly recommended.
